Satchel Publishes 2020 Year in Review

After one of the most turbulent years in history, Satchel has released a review of user data that reveals how schools reacted to lockdown in 2020.

This comes as PM Boris Johnson announced a national lockdown after one day back in school, with schools moving back to remote learning at the beginning of the week.

The infographic includes data on assignments, seating plans, behaviour and more. It paints a picture of the national effort to keep learning on track whilst schools were closed.

Among the most significant statistics are:

  • More than 19 million assignments were submitted on the platform
  • Over 11 million positive Behaviour points were awarded
  • 113,819 assignments  mentioned Covid or Coronavirus

The stats shed light on the use of Satchel One throughout school closures and distance learning by showing how teachers and students used the platform to continue learning.

During the pandemic, Satchel made extensive changes to the platform in order to keep up with the changing needs of teachers and students. These changes included but were not limited to improved Timetables whereby teachers can add video links to specific lessons, the ability to create socially distanced seating plans and introduction of the new task type, Classwork.

Satchel aims to maintain a close relationship with their schools in the new year, to work alongside them through the latest lockdown measures.
